My inlaws live in Woodbury. I was wondering if you ever saw a 11A-12A JD pulltype just outside of Doweltown on the Liberty side? I go by and look at every time we're down there. It's probably rusted out bad, But it's a sacker machine the only one I ever saw.The wife's grandpa lived a Smithville.

hey 430 No i don't recall any combines. There used to be a junky type place at the bottom of the hill to get up to Smithville. Thats pretty well cleaned up with the 4 lane through there. Is it north or south of the smithfork river?
Should remember the thing. Now you got me wondering. I'm going back there for a week on the 15th. I'll have to check it out.

The only land mark I can think of is the Low rent housing by the hiway going west I think you go up over a hill and about half way down the other side there's a road that goes back to town and the road follows a creek on the east side would that be the Smithfork river? Anyway between the edge of town and the hiway on the east side of the road is where it sits in the edge of a jungle kind of a driveway there. Did the 4 lane go through Doweltown? I haven't been there in three years.

Yea i know where your talking about haven't seen it but i'll look when i'm there. That little creek
is a feeder creek for smithfork. Yes the 4 lane is done. From the edge of smithville North northwest to hwy 96 that cuts over to murphysboro. It really sucks so much traffic now. If you haven't been there lately you won't know the place. They even have a Chinamart now right in the middle of town. For Sale: A nice house on 2 acres, wooded, 5 miles on a deadend road to Centerhill lake. Landing at the end of road. LOL Seriously we are selling it later this year.
It's been alot of fun there but time to move on.

Take Care Farmer
