I took this picture a year ago about 20 miles from my house. Its not a great picture but its either a 33,35,or 40 Oliver SP combine thats sat for years and is slowly rusting away.

The owner wasnt very friendly and informed us that his late Dad had bought this combine many years ago and that it wasnt for sale.He said that he might restore it someday. He wouldnt let us get close enough to take a good picture.

There are several older combines in this area including some 40,45, and 95 JD's,a couple of E Gleaners, and the nicest 90 Special Massey you will ever see.

Sad to see the old Ollie rusting away. I always thought the 33/35/40 Olivers were big machines in their day. I know my Dads 35 Oliver would out cut his 45 Deere in Soybeans and Wheat. It was also bigger phisically than his Deere.

I'm appalled by the number of people who not only refuse to sell an old combine, but won't allow it to be restored, nor wil do it themselves! This is an outrage!

I know of two old Ollies much like this one, most likely free for the taking. I'm glad others will GIVE AWAY old combines, just for removal.
