A neighbor called me and gave me A MH 92 and an Oliver 33. It'll be a while before I can get it due to the snow.

71 Ford,
Congrats,I must say that I envy you on the free combines as around here the very cheapest most will sell an old combine is at the top end of junk price. Some want the prepared metal price for them.

Its great that some people up your way think enough of their old combines that they will give them to someone that will save them.

We are going to want some pictures of some of your combines when the weather breaks up your way.

Heres a picture of a rough-rough 91 IH I looked at a year ago.He said it would easily scrap for $250!!!If he loaded it complete and hauled it 25 miles to the nearest yard he would get $50-80 a ton at the best getting docked for the tires-etc.

I am starting to collect some corn pickers just like you fellows are eyeing combines. I looked at a nice shedded 227 JD mtd. awhile back. It hasn't been used for about 15 years. Last used on the fellow's 3020. I would like to own it, but cannot justify his asking price,$500. In my mind, scrap price or little above. The thing about mtds. is moving them around, was hoping to find an old tractor to mount one on and leave it on, or buy tractor and picker together, but many have been separated, with people finding tractor will bring more by itself with out it on. Many mtds. here have met the torch fate.
