Yep, I looked at all 7 pages. Looks like them sidehillers have their own little community.
It would have been interesting to see how a JD looks on a slope, I hate driving anything on a slope, especially when It's not my equipment, make me nervous...

I had a great uncle that bought a brand new JD 6600 and on his way home with it from the dealer, somehow wasn't paying attn. and it went off the side of a bridge, one of them bridges that ain't got any sides. It ended up laying square on its side. We've got pictures of it at home. Don't have acess to them right now, otherwise I'd post em. He was ok, but I'll bet he was pretty embarressed. They ended up getting another new 6600, this one a diesel, the first was gas.

So are you saying the first J.D. 6600 did not survive just being dumped on its side?

Nope, I guess it was junked, If he could of fixed it, he would have. He was a great mechanic. Too bad, at least the second one was a diesel.

Well, that is too bad. I know combines are really quite fragile and don't take much impact to be totaled. Still, depending on speed and steepness of fall, some machines do survive a mere roll onto its side.

If a combine is rolled onto its side, things could get out of alignment. I know a place that rolled a Case 2188 onto its side. Wasn't a hard roll and they had it up and going in 2 hrs. But then they started having bearing problems. Keep in mind this was a 2188 that doesn't very much for moving parts compared to a 6600. And I think he made out good on the 6600 if the 2nd one was a diesel. The gassers weren't very good.

Good god almighty I never would have believed it great pictures beyond great!!!! Didn't think it would be possible on that steep of hills. I lived west of portland 40 miles for only 5 months one time. Rained everyday for 3 solid months. I was building some apartment complexes. Been around Mount Hood and up to the ski resort in the summer. Had no idea they farmed thos hills like that. I'll never look at a monster truck the same again. Everybody go to the link!!!!! !!!!!
