Any Gleaner made before or in early 1955, is 100 percent pure, unaldurated Baldwin, period. Allis-Chalmers did acquire the Baldwin Harvester Company in 1955, but I have no idea of what month the transaction was made.

Farmer, I'm really not sure how mant T's were produced but I do know that they are sure hard to find.I was sure fortunate to buy a shedded one only 50 miles from home.

Heres a picture of one in a salvage yard not that far from me.It wont be junked.

Butch, Thanks for the picture and sale link.Thats one superb old Gleaner model T-3.My guess is that the price it brings will open some eyes.Lets all take a guess.I'm saying $2500 and that may be too low!

Heres my T Gleaner #1341 sitting in the shed of the former owner.I'm almost ashamed to say what I paid for it but I gave the owner his asking price. He just wanted someone to have it that would keep it.It ran and was used up until 10 years ago but one cylinder now has anti-freeze in it.

Pete,
The Gleaner T was a one year production combine and was built in two sizes. The T-2 was a 7 ft and the T-3 was a 10 ft.

It had a 23" wide cylinder and was powered by a 45 HP 172 cubic inch 4 Cyl OHV Ford engine. It weighs around 5600 lbs and the bin holds a whopping 30 bushels. They will easily haul on a car trailer.

Here is a picture of my original sales literature which I have had to use in the past to prove that the Gleaner T was actually built. Now that I own a T its much easier to prove.

So was the "T" built before Allis bought Gleaner? What year was it built?

It was all Gleaner built in either 1954 or 1955.My book "The Grain Harvesters" says 1954.Who on here knows for sure?
