Hey, it would be neat to have a "convention" of old combine admirers just like they do with old tractors, cars, and trucks. Gather at some combine collector's place and have fun. Any takers or organizers? Maybe this is already being done and I just haven't heard of it. I know there are a lot of places where old combines are on display, but not just exclusively combines.

AS good friend of mine posted something just like this along this line, about a year ago. He called for the proposal of a North American Combine and Harvester Trust. If such an organization can be chartered, then many local and regional chapters can do their part and have localized shows, museums, conventions and such.

Does anyone here know any lawyers or legal advisors familiar with creating new non-profit or tax-free organizations?

That sounds like a great idea.I think there are more old combine admirers around than one would first think that there are.At the present I dont know of any shows that feature only combines.

What would really be fun would be to take 10-15 old 1940's-50's-early 60's model combines to an 80 acre field of wheat and cut it some afternoon and haul it away in old trucks.

Old tractors have gotten so high that I cant afford to collect them.In the 70's-80's I owned 125 old tractors but they are all gone now.For years I wanted to collect old combines but didnt get started until a year ago.In the meantime I let lots of nice old combines get away including my neighbor ladies 123 IH that no one seems to know what happened to it.

I really look for combine collecting to take off someday but it may be too late to save lots of the 1940's-50's model combines that are still out there.
