I have an engine from an old John Deere combine, not sure of the model. It's a 4 cylinder, valve in head with the Thermal Syphon Cooling system.

Anyone know the model and it's value?

Jim

Found a few more combine listings; various 4 cyl Hercs, a Lyc and a Cat( the Hercs and the Lyc identified, but I have no info as to whether any OHV) but no Cont"s, BUT hasten to add books only go to 1950 and are notoriously incomplete, there being no listings for models 25 or 30.
Model 35"s are shown (but, again, may not show all mod 35"s), but no 12A. Good luck.

Looks like more description will be necessary (unless the engine is one-of-a-kind)...I count 17 combine models from 32 or so to 50, and that"s in a peripheral, incomplete source, which is of no help unless you have a 31-37 Mod 5/5A (Lyc AFD) or 32-39 Mod 7 (Lyc D) (BUT I have nothing on Lycoming ,as to if OHV). A couple others have unidentified Hercs, but most don"t even state engine make. Good luck.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. This is a John Deere engine, I think it may have come off
a John Deere 35 Pull type, the later version of the 12A.

This is probably a Continental motor. Used on late 25's and model 30's.
