I just found out I have an opportunity to buy a NI 325 (Narrow Row)Picker, 8 roll husking bed, for $1000.00. It appears to be in pretty decent shape and it has the optional paddle in the gathering area. Is this a decent deal in SW Minnesota? Not too many farmers around here picking corn anymore. Thanks for any advice.

That's a little high for my part of MN - but for this time of year it is in the ball park anyhow. I've seen one wide-row unit sell for $1200, Most sell for $200 - 400. I bought mine for $130. Narrow row units go for $400-700.

Brad, I am located near Pipestone. I pick corn 'cause I still feed cattle ground ear corn. The cattle seem to really do good on it.

Yes,That's about the goin' rate for pickers in my area(SW MN).
I've been looking for narrow row pickers for you in "The Land",and "Agri-news",but only find wide rows.
I was at a consignment auction a couple weeks ago and seen a 324 go for $875.
I'd say if it looks good, buy it 'cause there's not many narrow pickers out there.
It's true that not many guys ear pick around the area, but when ya need it..... ~brad
