And it sold.....for ten dollars!!! It was 1100 miles too far for me, would have liked to have had it. Oh well, I'll just go back to kicking myself over the gas Gleaner K that sold locally for $100. One bid, sold:-(

Yeah, after looking at it again, I can see the red paint is a different shade, so it was probably added on.

That was a long time ago, but I THINK it was a Chevy engine. Maybe it was because of all the Delco parts on it???? Anyway, these were 95R models. We had 3 of them on the farm I worked on. One of them had some differences from the other 2. I had the imprssion that these were all made in the '60's.

Maybe the cab and AC was a later add on.

That"s an aftermarket cab. I"ve seen pictures of an IH 101 combine and a JD 55 roundback with cabs with that angled windshield. Wonder if it"s real AC or one of those evaporator coolers? Air is too humid in the east for them to do any good, but in the dry western plains, I"m told they worked well.

That thing has a cab, without windows that open, so it must have A/C! Are they sure it's a '50's model? I mean heck, we used the John Deere 95R for harvest, when I was in High School, and these old combines just had a seat out there exposed to the elements, and used a Chevrolet 6 cyl gasoline engine. I thought these combines were from the '60's, but never checked.

90 MH combines were made from 1953-56.

95 JD's used a JD 6 cyl engine,not a Chevy.

This was a long time ago, but I either thought it was a chevy engine because of Delco parts, or it said GM on it somewhere. Then again, GM may have been the supplier for JD on this engine. A good example of this sort of things, is the Old Mercruiser 120 that used a Chevy 4 cylinder, and had the Mercury name on it. They also used other Chevy and Ford engines, as well as one of their own.

There were three different incarnations of the 95. A 1958 95 will look different from a 1962 95 which looks a little different from a 1968 95. Are you sure on the Chevy engine? Deere used their own 6 cylinders in the 95 . . . . 4400 gas used a 292 Chevy.

No, but their was something that indicated GM on the engine. It could have said GM on it, or that it used Delco parts.

JD did use Delco electrics. I think the 95 from 1964 up used the same 6-cylinder gas engine that the 4020 used.
