I have a new idea 300 2 row corn picker and was wondering if this would pick popcorn? The small strawberry popcorn would probrbly get chewed up but I was wondering about a bigger ear. I would like to find biggest eared popcorn I could. I got this 2 years ago and just bought a manual for it so Im not so smart on all the adjustments yet and I only had a chance to use it once but it worked good on feild corn. Would it be worth a try on popcorn or will I destroy it all?

The picker will work fine.I have used one myself.Need to buy a picker now that I have shed room for one.I only grow popcorn when we need it .Usually its 5 or 6 years before I need to grow some again.I leave it on the wagon till its dry and ready to shell.I have an old hand sheller that I rigged up an electric motor to run it with.Doesn't get it all off the first time around so we have to shell some by hand.We store(shelled) it in those plastic totes in a shed and it keeps very well.I plant Purdue Hybrid. It is a yellow corn and pops up huge kernels

I'm pretty sure it would pick. The problem would probably shelling at the snapping rolls and husking bed.Never have grown popcorn myself, but I assume it shells fairly easy.
