Hi guys, I am new to the combine forum, I"ve lurked here but never posted. I went today to pick up a 3 bottom AC SC plow and the guy I bought it from has a cherry 91 Mc Deering self propelled combine. It is the neatest little thing that I have ever seen. I have not heard of them. He last used it 2 or 3 years ago to combine some corn with. Anyway, he is looking for a new home for it and me and some other old equipment buffs are interested in giving it one. What is the story on these combines and what is something like that worth?

Thanks,

Wil

Buy it if you can get it! One that is complete and more or less works is very rare. My grandfather had on in late 40's. Way too many old rare combines have ended up in the scrapyard.

My uncle had one around 1960. Had planetary steering, two levers like on a SP swather. Bigger ones in the series had conventional steering setup. Dad's AC 66 was more user-friendly. Uncle was surprised to find out we could change cylinder and fan speed by turning cranks- he had the new SP and had to change sprockets to get different speeds.

The 123 steered with a steering wheel and came out in the 1940's.My Dad had a 1949 model 123.It was a big heavy combine with all the weight being on the left side of the machine.

The 91 was a small combine that came out in 1959 and steered with levers. This idea didnt work good at all.The 93 replaced it in 1962 and had a steering wheel.
