What are your settings guys? I am running a Deere with deep tooth chaffer (closed), Tailboard 1/2, sieve 1/4 plus, fan 850. To get a decent sample I am blowing way to much over. Also milo is 50% down (thank God for row heads). Any suggestions appreciated.

Raise the tail board and open up the chaffers. Alot of folks think that the cleaning shoe works mainly by the grain passing thru the screens, actually, the screens are the to keep the bigger stuff out and to suspend the material so the air blast can work.

Raising the tail board raises the air pressure at the back of the shoe. I always work with open chaffer and work down from there. Another trick in milo is to open up your tailings auger, and load your machine until you seed more milo in the returns and back off the ground speed a little. That lets you know the shoe is loaded.

Rev, I checked my tailboard It is in the middle position i.e. one notch above flat. One notch it can go higher. Can"t get into the field for a couple days yet since showers on Sat. Tom
