I have a Craftsman 18 h.p. Mower Tractor with a B&S Twin Cyl Engine. She"ll start right up, but will lope, and eventually die at slower r.p.m."s,
Will run fine with a little choke, and with the throttle opened up. Has sat for about a year. Any ideas?

Have you replaced the air filter lately? I have a 16hp briggs twin, and it is very fussy about the air filter being very clean. Do not put oil on the pre-filter.

The idle circuit in the carb is clogged. Time for a carb OH, or at least a shot of your favorite Panther PI$$ in the gas.

I must have used half a can of Hog Wash in that thing! Run the crap out of it today, till the old mower belt gave out! I noticed a plate on the front of the carb. Is there a kit I can buy to O/H it?

Hey Big,that plate is the fuel pump cover. There is a kit available for it,separate from the rest of the carb.
