I need help! I passed my CC1282 over to my son. Dad needs a new one. I have been looking and all I see is toys! I am looking fo probably my last tractor. I cant believe what is out there. I fact, some of the daelers talked me out of some because they are not built to last a bunch of hours!I had 1200 hrs on my 1282 and she is going strong.

I have narrowed it down to about two. Either Simplicity , or Husquevarna. I am wondering about these new engines. The Kohler Corage, BS Twins. I don't need 25 Hp to cut the grass. I think that the higher HP, the more gas I will burn. I seem to be leaning Huskaverna, with the 15Hp Kawasocki Engine. I know there are a lot of exoerts out there, that may steer mein the right direction. I am aimming in the $2500 area.

I've got a JD rider with a 13hp Kohler, plenty of power to cut grass, and easy on gas.

Check out the Ingersoll tractors, very well built, large wheels, no plastic! See the Lawn and Garden magazine for information or see their web site!!

If we were talking engines only,, I would go for the Kawasaki. I have 2 that are nearly indestructible.

Husuvarna is the same manufacturer as Poulan, Poulan Pro, Crapsman. A Kohler Corage is a cheap engine rated at about 800 hours, internally very cheaply made. A Briggs Intek is a great little engine, is a 1200 hour rated engine. I would lean real hard to buying a Simplicity, you have better quality, better service. You will be very dissappointed in a 15hp engine, especially in the Husquvarna.
