Have the chance to aquire Husqvarna LTH 130 for free. It does not look to worn out or abused.I am told the hydrastatic trans. does not work.Is this a common problem with this unit? Could it be a filter or other simple fix? Thanks

Look up some major parts [ hood, motor, Ft End and such ] That's a good clue to parts value. You can't lose [ much ] if you know part out value. You might find a similar bogus machine to strip for future parts.

** One Caution ** I recently aquired a Bolens Hydrostatic [ my first hydro ] and saw many
cautions about the drive, disconnect PTO belt
[ if so equipt ] if tractor has no attachment hooked up. Raising rear wheels before fire up sounds like good advice too.

Like he said. A transmission not going as fast can really be the drive belt slipping and it in need for the tensioner pulley to be adjusted. Do you have pictures of or a model # for the transaxle? Many of the newer aluminum case transaxles are not easily servicable if a gear is broken or the hydro pump wears out.
