Shouldn't be the seat. You have to have the brake on in order to crank it. If the brake is on, seat doesn't matter...

Time delay module would be a good candidate, they're cheap and easy to repair and they are one of the high failure parts.

Sounds like a bad time delay control module
At starter solenoid follow red wire to a module that has a long black wire a short yellow and orange wires
This is the time delay control module It can go bad and give intermitant spark or no spark
A cheap easy fix See ur local dealer for part
Older modules were square but new ones are round
Good luck Gary

Randy, did you resolve the PTO problem yet? IF not, do you have power at the solenoid? You need to have the key on, in the seat, brake off, and pto on (in that sequence). Have someone check to see if you have power/ground at the solenoid at the rear of the tractor.

You had better go find a service manual on this, unless you knocked a wire loose if you were messing with PTO switch. That series of Deere has all kinds of relays, time delay relays, switches, control modules, etc. Jim

Are there any safety switches on the tractor that
will prevent the engine from starting? You may need to jumper them to find the defective switch.
