Are there any good websites dedicated to Snapper discussion and parts? I have an old snapper I'm trying to get parts for but haven't found anyone really talking about these lawnmowers. Also, I checked with Snapper and they no longer stock these parts. Thanks for any information.

It is my understanding that Snapper is owned by B&S now. I have a local dealer who has the parts on the shelf that you need.

Yahoo has at least one group for Snappers. Check them out though. One I was signed up for didn't have anyone removing the spam and it turned out to be nearly useless as a forum.

It's a Snapper Comet-30 with the rear engine. Around a 1969 model I think. Not sure of exact year, just heard that's about the time they made them. I'm looking for clutch pedal cover and the plastic center hubs for rear wheels. Mine are cracked.

The pedal pads and plastic wheel centers were the same for many years. ....Some long-time Snapper dealers probably have them in stock.

Simplicity bought out Snapper, and many of the Snapper dealers in my area got PO'ed by Simplicity's marketing policies, and dropped the Snapper line.

If your 30" Comet has an original B&S engine, the first two digits of the B&S Code number indicate the YEAR of manufacture. ..... The second two digits indicate the MONTH of manufacture.

30" Comets could have a 6hp B&S, 7hp B&S, or be 8hp with either a B&S or a Tecumseh engine.
