Its not a tractor but I have my dads 61? ariens emporer rear engine mower that I would like to get going again, the gears and chains were getting worn and thats why it was retired back in 83. I did part a couple to get its drive parts but I doubt they are any better then whats on it and since they are similar to the snapper rear engine would those parts fit the ariens or is it time to have a machine shop make me the gears I need. I hope to have all my car projects done nest year or so as I have a few lawn tractors and riding mowers that need to be restored. Jeff

Do you have a model no off the machine?Ariens parts are not too uncommon, however tracking them can be a challenge..If you are meaning"sprockets"(that the chains run on) rather than"gears"(which mesh together)they are probably a standard mfg item, based on diameter/hub size-type/and no of teeth.Chain should have a size no stamped on links.Best 1st bet would be to cjeck with an Ariens dealer.
