I have a Simplicity 3112H with a Briggs and Stratton engine and it needs a carb rebuild badly. The side of the engine says model and type followed by the #'s 300421-0127-01-6903. My question is how hard is this job to do and were can I get the kit?

There is nothing to these carbs., You must remove the high speed adjuster assembly (bottom adjuster) first then use a cheap 4 or 6 in one screw driver and remove the main jet before the top will come off. The multi bit screw driver has rounded blades that won't gouge the threads out of the adjuster area while removing the jet.

The part number for the rebuild kit is 299720 and can be purchased here.

Good Luck

Carb kit(#299720) can be ordered thru your local mower dealer(take mod & type# with you just in case) or from www.outdoordistributors.com($23.56 + ship)you might want to go there & view kit to see what parts are in kit.As far as rebuild, disconnect carb linkages, remove carb from intake elbow, remove 4 screws to lower 1/2 of body, the important thing to check when rebuilding is side to side throttle shaft wear & float level(less that .010") if more than above shaft should be bushed with a repair kit. This eng has been around a few yrs, took a rope start similar to yours to bone yard 2 wks ago.
