Have recently purchased a M.W. Chor-Trac, Model #5054, Serial #1353. Am interested in learning the year this tractor was built. Also, would like to purchase a manual for this tractor. I would be greatly obliged to receive any info, re anything about this tractor. My phone number is (785) 378-3055 (KS) and a collect call is okay by me. I will continue to check this web-site, as well. THANKS! to "Yesterday's Tractor Co." for making this great site available to all we tractor lovers.

I to have a Chor-trac. model Mid-5054A which I believe was made by Midland in Wisconsin. I also have a Plow trac made for Wards by Simplicity. The Chor trac I am not sure of the orginial colors . Mine looks red with green wheels and has been sprayed with orange. Yet it could have been orange.Do you know? The Plow trac was orange with black wheels and a black Briggs engine.

Appreciate your reply! A little more detail about my Chor-Trac. Actually, I was w/a friend while he bought a different tractor and the man selling the tractor just gave me this one. That should tell you what shape it is in. It looks to be the original paint and of course, in bad need of paint. The color is orange and there is no motor. Still, I am anxious to restore it. Am having trouble w/the transmission and want to buy one. That is why I am looking for a manual. Or, looking for someone who may have a transmission for sale. The model number for this Chor-Trac does not have the letter "A" on it. Also does not have the word, "Mid" on it anywhere. I am going on your info and searching Midland to see what I can learn. Good luck with your tractors and Thanks! I believe I"d stick w/the orange color on your Chor-Trac. I couldn"t say about the Plow-Trac.

There are places around that sell reprints - and also the occasional original on Ebay. This forum deletes links when posted - so I try to post one this way (put in real dots) www dot vgtcoa dot com/Manuals.html

I've got several Hoe-tracs, Chor-tracs and Plow-tracs - but I'm not an expert. In 1951 - Chor-Trac "Special" came with a Clinton 3 horse engine. Chor-Trac "Deluxe" came with the same but weighed 30 lbs. more. Simplicity made the V-series Plow-Trac for Wards.

Thanks! I'll try the link. I appreciate your help. Actually, my Chor-Trac was a gift and is in extremely poor condition. It has the original paint (what is left of it), I believe. At present, I'm looking to buy a transmission, that is the reason for the need of a manual or, someone who might have a transmission to sell. The transmission (original) that was on it is terminally, stuck! I have it off the tractor but can't get it apart, etc. Thanks, again.
