Hi

I'm also looking for a new mower I'm thinking about the cub cadet zero turn rzt 50.I wood like to know about how long those Kawasaki engines been around and if they are any good? And who makes them? I can remember when they came out 30 years ago and they did not turn out well,is this going to happen again. Its 22 hp twin is it about like the Brigg's twin?Is the hydro transmission any good on those cub cadet? There is two hydro on for each wheel. thank you

DONT BUY CUB-CADET. DONT WAST THE MONEY.The kawi is a good motor and I use one on my Ex mark and it runs stong. But parts are more expensive when they do break. If you want a zero trun. Find a commerical unit like Ex Mark. Just buy from a small local dealer instead of the big junk box stores. you will be able to get more help when something goes wrong.

The Kawasaki's may be a good engine BUT what the cost of repair part. A guy resently brought a JD AM600 with an 8 HP Kawa. The engine did not have any fire from the CDI. the coil was bad. The cost of the coil was almost $250. The guy is going to repower with a OHV B&S engine.

As far as I am concerned the Kawasaki engines are not all that great. If you are looking at something that you want to alst a long time, make sure it has individual pumps and wheel motors and not hydro transaxles. and it is still an MTD product.

Dont care much for the cub Cadet product As jt said its a MTD product
AS far as the Kawasaki engine is concerned I feel its by far the best out there
We use a lot of them on our Deere products and i have NEVER seen one wear out even under extreme use
Dont get me wrong thou Koehler an Briggs still make a good engine
There just not as quiet an smooth as a Kawaski
As for the Kawasaki engine on the Cub Cadet product ITS A WASTE OF A GOOD ENGINE
