was just given a snapper series 5 rear engine rider. runs great, but the drive disc that the drive plate turns is worn out. in fact the rubber drive surface is almost completely gone. how hard is this to change, and do i need to drain oil from engine before i stand it on end, or just shut off gas? also this is soft start clutch. any help would be great.

Make sure you close air valve on top of gas cap if you have it. Make sure it is in park. Flip it up on the platform behind engine (two pipe things). Remove 4 nuts holding the drive disk on. You may have to pry the brake/clutch mechanism a little to get off. Reverse the procedure to put back on. You can grease or oil things up when it is in this position. But remember to loosen the air valve other wise you won't go far. No need to drain anyting.
