I was working on a 5 hp overhead valve Briggs on a garden tiller that would not idle unless the choke was about half way on. If you took the choke off it would die. I think it is about 4 or 5 years old. I never could find any screw to adjust the idle mixture with. I found the idle speed screw but of course that would not help. I think the motor is a Briggs Intek 190. Do they not have any mixture screw? I took the bowl off and blew out the best I could but it still will not idle. If I rev it up I can take the choke off. Thanks to anyone who can help me on this one. B. Jones

there may be a brass slotted screw on the carb..there is a passage in this screw that is tiny and feeds gas during idle..lucas
