Hello, as stated above I have one of these. Its a 1986 model with a briggs and strat. pancake twin. I have the 48 inch mowing deck and I'm concerned about one of the blade postes ( the shaft that goes down through the deck, just so we're clear.). One of which, and fortunately just one, seems to have bad bearings or something as I can wiggle it. It also rattles when I first engage the clutch, and sometimes as I'm mowing too. Is this a dire situation we're talking about? Will this cause the belt to be thrown? And can I get replacement parts for it of anykind? Thanks very much.

Stop using this thing before you do more damage! If you haven't damaged the actual shaft (real name - deck spindel) you can repalce just the bearings in these. They can be gotten at any New Holland dealer or your local bearing store or posibly auto parts store. If you are going to somewhere other than NH dealer you'll have to remove them and take for comparison.

Just the info I need. Thank you! Shouldn't be too hard to pull these out, I don't think. I had filled these with grease when I first got it used. It hasn't been running that long.
