212 jd the variator seems to slip actually the tractor creeps to a slow crawl and stops..in certain positions on the variator settings,,if you push in the clutch and let it pop out it will go again it goes real good only to creep slower and slower..it doesnt do it in all positions ..what should i look for..the rear drive belt is new but the front drive belt seems hard but not worn..and it seems the cluthch tension has something to do with it..thanks gregg

if you are still having probelm do not replace belts unless belts are severly cracked and unusable a simple adjustment can be made. please post again if you want to know how to adjust

Another possible soulution.. in reply to ECHOMASTERSERVICETECH, 07-06-2005 02:29:28
the spring that puts tension on the belt from the clutch was very weak..i have had this assy apart and might have put the sping in the wrong place..it really needed more tension..i repositioned the spring to another place more tension and it worked perfectly..now i just need to find the correct placement of the tension spring that goes to the frame somehwere..i have done the manual adjustments to the variator by the book..its all in the tension of the spring on the flat pulley on the main drive belt..gregg
