Went into the local JD dealer for a ignition switch for my dad's 111 lawn tractor.

Got the parts mangler. Guy is new to the dealership but has more gray hair than everybody in the building barring one salesman. Has told me he has worked in JD parts for a gazillion years so he knows it all.

He then procedes to ask me what version of 111 I had. He tells me that there were two. What did I miss I thought they only made the competition 111. Other versions of this frame were the 108 and 116. I know there was a 110 and 112 but thought there was only one style of 111.

What was the other 111?

G to JD parts online at:

Look over these pages and see what you have. If it is an L series it's totally different.

Of the 111 series I know there is an earlier version which has a manual pto clutch and a later version that has an electric pto clutch. The earlier one has the gas tank under the hood and I think the later one has the gas tank under the rear of the fender deck but I am going by memory as to the gas tank location so it may be wrong. These were probably late 1970 or early 1980"s machines, long before the l111 series.
