tiller question

Does the rear PTO on a garden tractor turn slower than the one on a compact farm tractor or are the tillers just geared differently? I've noticed I need to make several passes with my garden tractor to get the same results you can get in one pass with a compact and 3-point tiller. Unfortunately I don't have the room to store a compact tractor and some of the areas I mow are a little confined.

What brand/model do you think is the best garden tractor and tiller combination?

A bigger higher HP machine will do more work in a given amount of time than a lower HP machine.

For the most part, I agree but it is more than a matter of HP ("hype power") If it only came down to HP, a lawn or garden tractor with 25 HP would do more or work faster than a compact farm tractor with 15-20 HP.
