I'm putting the finishing touches on my Wheel Horse model 633 diesel BEAST , it is a 1963 model 633 with a Hatz E75 7 hp air cooled diesel! Only 2500 RPM ..... but MAN IT'S GOT TORQUE !!! Made a straight stack for the exhaust , found some factory heavy duty Wheel Horse hubs for the rear axles , added a factory retrofit transmission support kit , the frame has been braced generously and some 23 x 8.50 x 12 tires will used on the rear. I hope to have it all done in time for the Little Guys Show up in Manchester , Pa. Bill in Richmond , Va.

Replaced 11hp flathead Briggs with 12.5 OHV Tecumseh in a Murray some years back, tucked in with no real problem, just cleared under hood, bolted to frame, belts went on normal. Most recent fun project was simplicity 700 replace flathead Briggs with starter/generator with a OHV140 Tecumseh from a Bohlens. Drill holes in frame, make raised motor mounts, install oil drain tube, make shaft coupling for engine, raise hood, make up exhaust pipe and motorcycle muffler, mount seperate fuel tank, starter wiring. Kept me out of bars for 1/2 the summer. RN.

Well, I took a Sears built for an 8 horse engine and put in a 12.5 horse, and while I can lift the front end up in third and fourth, it was really impressive cutting down the heavy grass I had growing on top of the septic mound- I could not see over the top of the grass while seated, and the ends of the mound were easily 40 degrees incline.

And I think it has the 38 inch deck too, so I should imagine 18 horsepower ought to cut through quite a bit more.

If you want speed, put a larger pulley on the engine, or bypass the governor. I left mine intact, I figured I would not be the only one driving it, and all of the safety devices are not connected.
