I have older Gravely L walkbehind, recently rebuilt runs great, except in low gear if I hit thick grass the mower and tractor buck somewhat, it doesn't happen in hi gear. What is making it do that? I thought that there is a built in clutch to protect the engine, should I take the mower off and check that or any other ideas? Thanks.....

Hi Bandit, I ansered you earlier but it didn't post for some reason. Try to adjust the hi-low shift rod at the bottom of rod with the 3/8 nuts to put more pressure on low range, sounds like it may be slipping some. You can also post this on yahoo gravely, lots if info to be had over there. HTH
