I know this isn"t a garden tractor but, I picked up a Jacobsen Trim-O 10 mower this past weekend. Nice shape and runs good. Anybody have any info on these mowers? Anyone know what the correct pre-mix is? There"s a label on the motor, hard to read. I believe it says to mix a i/2 pint of SAE 30 to 1 gallon of gas. Didn"t they have 2-stroke oil back then? Any help would be great!!!!

1/2 pint to the gallon is what I use in my 1925 Elto outboard. Still runs great.

That is the corrct mix for the old Jacobson 2 cycle engines. You can use newer oils, but do not mix it at the 50-1 mix they show on the bottles. The new engines have a chrome alloy cylinder, makes it a lot harder, the old ones do not. So do as it says, use 8oz to one gallon of pure gas, non alchohal only.

we used echo or stihl 2 cycle oil mixed according to the bottle in all 2 strokes old and new. these two brands are high grade synthetic and work well.. lucas
