I am looking to buy a replacement for my tired Ford LGT165. Looking over whats available the White looks pretty good. John Deere is quite expensive here. I need around 20 HP. Does anyone have any preferences or any " do not buy "?
Thanks Barry

A lot of it depends on what you are mowing and how much. If you are mowing a smaller yard, a little Ariens will do you great, start at 15hp 40" for around 2500, up to 21hp 48" for 4199.oo. If ya watn bigger, more commercial, Dixie Chopper makes a 20hp 50" deck for about 5500.

The White is an MTD same as a Cub Cadet or new Troy bilt. MTD is fine if you know that is what your buying. IMHO the biggest problem with the MTD offerings are the flimsy decks. I went through 2 MTD products in ten years. I replaced the last on with an old Gravely for less than the cost of a new MTD. One heck of a robust machine, on my second year with it and am happy.. Why don't you check out some top of the line 8 or 10 year olds, might end up with something better.
