2 ways to jumper the solenoid- 1) directly across the large lugs with a wrench or a screw driver. 2) with a wire from the battery "+" touched to the small terminalThe thin red wire likely goes to the small terminal- this should only show a voltage when the key turned to "start" with someone seated on the seat, and the blade up/disengaged. Otherwise the green and the small red are swapped. The green one on a guess is likely to go to the battery side of the solenoid. Do all tests like this with the tractor in neutral only and blade disengaged or removed! Note that there will be a switch under the seat and possibly one that is aet to be closed when the blade is in the "up/disnegaged postion". There is a small chance that there may be an additional switch on the clutch pedal. If you try to run the tractor while bypassing the starting solenoid, and you want the engine to start- turn the key to the "run" position. If you do not own an ohm meter/multimeter, now maybe a good time to invest in one. Home centers, radio shack, Harbor Freight, etc have inexpensive ones and it will help you in locating defective switches, shorted wiring, broken wiring, etc.
