I am not sure of the quality of prime lines engine parts, I have seen some of theri stuff, and am not real sure of it. I use Stens a lot, they also offer a one year warranty on their parts, ask prime line what kind of warranty they offer of their parts, I do not know of any they have. If they will not warranty it, it does not get used in my shop.

i have used primeline pistons for years in kohlers that work alot of hours and have had no complaints.welders,tractors,generators...but i allways bore the cylinders.youll have trouble with any piston or rings if you put it in a worn out cylinder.they look like oem to me. mike

Mike, you're so right about the worn cylinder bore. I bought a used tractor 2 years ago with a Kohler K321 engine. I used it most of last winter with a snowblower and most of last summer with a mower. The old guy (original owner) who I bought it from told me it had been rebuilt with new piston, rings, rod and valves. It developed a serious knock late last summner so I took it out of service. I pulled the engine apart yesterday and the cylinder is really worn and egg shaped. The top ring broke and really "screwed up" that practically brand new piston. When the piston was at the bottom of the bore, you could see half of the top ring alongside the piston. A rebore and an O.S. piston should put me back in business.

They are a respectable aftermarket supplier. I would have no hesitation using the pistons and rings, in part because they are cheaper, but also because most manufacturers use various manufacturers of those parts depending on economics at the time of the production run.
