You have a 1948 Economy according to the serial number you gave. I have a 1948 as well, my SN is 929. Yours is an early 48 and should have chain steering. Join the yahoo Power King group as there are several on there that own this vintage. Together we can tell you about anything you want to know. The link to the homesite is as follows:

www.powerkingtractors.com

This should take you to the group home page where you can join and post any questions you may have. It's a great group and well worth the time. When you join, if you don't want to get the messages sent to your email, you'll have to select "no email" during the process. Good luck with your machine and I hope to see you on the group!
