Where can I find any information on a springfield tractor. It's in my yard, and all I have been able to find out was they were made in Ohio. Any help sure would be appreciated.

Springfield was purchased by Toro in the mid 60 I believe around 65 or 66 they toro came out with their new paint in 66 or 67 toro came with a 7 10 12 hp tractors all front eng the first were red white 68 they had a 8 10 12 paint was red white and black the first ones had white fiberglass hood and fenders the 7and 8 were briggs the 10 12 were kohler if I remember was perty young but I think you could check with toro I think this is perty close I think they also had front eng 5 or 6 hp it had handle bar type stering the others had steering wheels 7and 8 I believe were 32" cut 10 12 hp were 42" cut all were 2 blabe belt driven

barb contact the university of davis california. thay have a archieve there on all types of garden tractors made in the 30s 40s and allthe way up to the senventies. they will send you informatuion on the springfield garden tractor. they were nmadeby quick manufacturing in ohio. they yuees to make farm machinery. in the 19th . century. then they started making engines and . later on garden tractors. they went out of business in the 1960s hope this helps.
