I have a 1968 Hahn Eclipse LTD 500 mower. I learned how to drive on it (in 1975 at age 3). It has a rear mount 7HP Briggs & Stratton engine (never been apart except for points and condenser), a 3 speed transmission, and a 32" deck. My dad bought it used in 1970 and used it until the early/mid 80's when he bought a JD 111 mower, the Hahn sat in the barn untouched until last summer when dad gave it to me, now we mow with it all the time, and it still has the orig. drive belt and blade (sharpened regularly of course). Shure seems like a darn good mower to me!!

Well I don,t have a hahn eclipse mower, but I do have a rottertiller that I found in a garage about eight years ago, and it has been a good tiller till this year. The gas tank and carb are just about rusted over and I would love to re-place them if I could. If anybody can help me with parts or a place to go I would keep my hahn eclipse tiller,I love it. THANKS

If you can get the model and or serial number off of the flywheel shroud and go to a mower dealer that sells parts for that brand of engine, they should be able to get you a carb and tank. I went to a mower repair shop 3 miles from home with the #s off of the B&S on the old Hahn. It took the guy a few minutes of cross referencing to the current part #s, and I and got a new set of points/condenser and a spark plug for $9 and some change. Parts were in stock too! Good Luck!!

You need to look on the flywheel shroud(cover). The flywheel will only have a part # on it. On most all older Briggs & Stratton engines the Model and Serial #s are stamped into the flywheel shroud.

IMHO the Hahn Eclipse was the best lawn mower ever made. Their magnesium alloy decks are incredibly light and durable. The mower I'm using now is at least 30 years old and still going strong with a 20 year old B&S engine. I hope I'm never without one!
