I have a 1250 hydrostat and it leaks all over the floor. We replaced the cork gasket between the pump and the motor with garlock, fixed leak for awhile, now leaks worse than before! Is this a common problem with IH hydrostats ? any follow-ups appreacited. Thanks in advance !

Got thinkin more and more, only leaks when we push it around in the shop alot ( ya know, your not supposed to push it). me and dad have kinda concluded that when we push it the pop valves pop and we loose a little oil. Dose that sound reasonable? By the way, I am looking at a Stuck ? '48 farmall C. does $250 sound good ? it's in good shape as far as I can tell otherwise. Thanks for all the help Everybody !

The "L" tube on the bottom can be a leaker if there is any damage to the seal. You might replace the tube assembly. Check to see if there is any cuts or nicks in the housing seat. You did check the oil filter gasket??? If the Farmall C is stuck because of sitting for several years it may be OK. Several I have seen have cracked blocks and sleeves because of light antifreeze. Check the oil for water. Good Luck!

there is a seal on the tube under the filter ,,it doesnt sealbetter the more you tighten it,,,set up a pan and take it loose and get new seal from cub dealer,,,also you can get a leak from the driveshaft input seal,,and of course the gasket you replaced....don

No, I'm sure it's something in the bottom end, the Leak seems to come from the pipe that is loacated under the oil filter. we've checked the pipe for cracks, none. Also have tightened the nut on the bottom, dosen't help. ? I'm stumped. Thanks for the help, Dvogt.
