Ratio is 16:1, pressure is not given in the factory manual.

If it smokes bad and runs rough it is probably one injector, maybe 2 that isnt working properly. I would have the injectors tested first, piston hight will only alter the comp by a small amount and it wont make it smoke.

My book says the compression should be 365 psi sounds like injection timing or injectors need work I rebuilt my injectors runs like a new machine

Have you tried running it without the air filter hooked up?(might be plugged) the ajustment on your pump might be off might be on full throttle when the air intake flap is at Idle or it's stuck at full throttle at the pump hope this helps some

NO flap on this one Bob. Its got the late simms pump on it. I think i have the wrong head gasket (too thick) its .049 thou compressed the one i think I need is .039 thou out of the box. the compresion is low 190 to 200 on the first hit, and 360psi cranking the engine until the gauge wount rise anymore. I think thats low for a new motor anyone an old ford tractor mechanic thanks again BOb KEEP TRYING
