I recently power washed my tractor and found the color under all the layers of old "blue" paint was actually ORANGE. What's up with this? I thought I read somewhere here that the Majors were all blue. I've seen 2 photos...one was all blue with silver wheels & one was all blue with "orange wheels. Why would all of my Major have been orange? I found orange paint on wheels, axle housings, rear-end, trans, and engine block. Does anyone know what the correct, original color scheme should be?

I have a 1957 fordson and would like te know the right orange colour for the wheels. There seem to be a lot of different orange colours. Where do i get the colour code in dulux or any other modern paint

I do not know more about Fordson colours but I have seen here in Finland one Major which had white engine covers/hoods and all the rest was orange paint.

The "orange" paint you have found under the blue is a red oxide primer. My 1963 Super Major has the same "orange" under the blue. Fordson Major and Fordson Power Major tractors are all "Ford Tractor Blue" with "Fordson Orange" wheels. Fordson Super Majors were the same colour until 1963. In 1964 the "New Performance" Super Majors were painted "Ford Tractor Blue" with "Ford Tractor Grey" wheels and fenders.

Later on, the wheels became white/gray.
