I use a 6-foot three-spindle finish mower behind my 2N to cut about 3.5 acres each week. The 2N has plenty of power to mow in second gear. The only time I have trouble is if I let the grass grow longer than I should (remember that you should only cut 1/3 off at a time and the ideal cutting height is about 2.5 to 3 inches).

As for the loader -- if I could get one for a few hundred I'd buy one. I've never seen one around here for cheaper than $600 so I do without. I've just not got that much need for a loader.

On the other hand, I did use a 2N with a loader quite a bit for various purposes (my landscaping, my brother's landscaping, the road into my dad's woodlot). While they are not ideal, they will work.

The mower will work great. As for the loader, the tubing is filled with hydraulic oil and is very heavy. You will have to mount the tractor from the rear which is quite inconvenient. I don't know what you plan on using the loader for or how much you are planning on paying for it, but you might consider getting a reversible rear tip scoop. It moves stones, dirt, manure, and other stuff very well. You can get one for around $200 at Quality Farm and Fleet or most implement supply places.

The 5'finish mower will be a good match for your 'N'. Others will differ, but putting a loader on an 'N' will render it useless for anything else, and they are a poor substitute for a "real" loader tractor with power steering and front axle & wheel equipment to stand the gaff. You will be better off with a new shovel & wheelbarrow. Of course, this is only my opinion, and we all have one.

Sure will; 5' is the largest you can comfortably go with an "N" series tractor. Dearborn loader was made for these babys....
