Gentlemen,

Are stabilizer arms typically used in pairs? or can they be used as singles?

I was looking to stabilize my back blade and a few other attatchments, most of them see light duty work.

Thanks, Dave

I would think it appropriate to ERROR on the side of CAUTION, that being said, it's better to be safe using both than to be sorry after something has broken.

I agree with the others.. while there might be situations that you can get by with 1.. like mowing.. it will be more likely to get damaged that way.. best use 2 if you can... and as another user said.. if you use your rear blade to 'push' like a backwards bulldozer.. you will break something pretty easilly..

Pairs. Always pairs.

Even the short inner versions like my 960 uses, or mentioned by the other person.

If you have the 1/4" by 1" Flatstock bars you can use them as singles one time. After that they will be bent.

They are strong in tension, weak in compression. You need both at the same time.

Unless you have newer style telescoping bars with pins. They handle a lot more abuse. But I would still use these in pairs anyway.

I bought two stabilizer bars for my row crop 4000. I seldom hook them both up because it's just too hard to connect and disconnect the pair. Now the row crop is a special case: the bars are short and attach on the inside of the three-point arms. If I had a standard tractor maybe I'd use them both. But just one works great for me.
