I just purchased a 3930 Ford-New Holland diesel tractor. I would like to know the year make (numbers at end of question) and how the P.T.O. works. I had a Massey Ferguson 135 gas with dual clutch so I know how the dual clutch P.T.O. works. The Ford P.T.O. can be engaged without using the clutch. Does it torque up slowly and does higher rpm make it torque up stronger? Please explain. Also, I need to know where to get manuals. Thanks. Joe

If my memory serves me correctly, your tractor was built in 1995 (5) November 4th (K04) Day shift (B).

The independent PTO is part of the hydraulic system verses a two-stage clutch like your MF 135 and is actuated by engaging the lever. To the best of my knowledge, it torques up (as you put it) as soon as it is engaged. I would engage it at low RPM’s and increase the RPM as needed. HTH. Rick H. Ga.
