4000 series ford only numbers I can make out are 84201D located below the starter(and the 8 is questionable). Its a diesel and when I start it it runs fine for 30 - 60 seconds and then it begins to blow out the air intake and oil breather on the side of the valve cover. Sound from exhaust changes. The engine does not make any strange sounds that I can detect. Smell of diesel becomes very strong with a lot of smoke. Could it be a stuck intake valve? Anything that can be done w/o major work?

timing. Is it a simms or c.a.v. ?

I don't know how to tell. The top of it has "ROOSA MASTER" stamped on it. The side plate has many many numbers but no name that I can see.

Today's Featured Article - Box Plow Blues - by Tom Schwarz. One of the first implements most tractor owners obtain is the box plow. For very little money, this piece of equipment promises to plow and flatten any hill or vale on your ranch road or farm. At least that's what I thought! As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want unless you own a monster tractor. U ... [Read Article]
