It looks like the ford 2000 and 4000 are linked togethter in my service manuals like they were some how different then my 3000. Is it an alltogether new model in 1965? I guess there was the 600 and 800 models they changed to the 2000 and 4000? My grandpa's 800 is quite a bit smaller in frame size from the looks of things. Same engine?

In '62, '63, & '64, the 2000 was essentially the 600/700 and the 4000 the 800/900 in a blue paint scheam. In '65 they changed to three cylinder engines, added the 3000 and 5000 to the line. TOTALLY different tractors.

In '68 there were some changes, most obvious was the grill. They were made thru '75.

My 3000 is my most used tractor! At aprox. 34 hp and 3400 lbs. it is a very useful utility tractor. Don't see many on the market as they seem to be in demand.

The early 2000 and 4000 with the 4 cylinder engines were just a later version of the 600, 800 tractor series. Somewhere in there they changed, and I believe the 3000, and maybe some other models were 3 cylinder. I am not sure when the change took place.
