I asked about a stuck clutch on a 3600 about two weeks ago, got a few ideas off the archives.I adjusted the clutch rod, pulled it up against a big tree, low gear, full throttle, foot on brakes with clutch depressed. Just dug two big holes in ground. Any ideas? Tractor is 410 miles away so this is weekend project, really not enough time to split unless last resort. thanks, Ron

I had the same problem with my 621. My fix was to drill a 1/4" hole in the side of the bell housing in the area adjacent to the flywheel face. I then depressed the clutch pedal & blocked it to keep it fully depressed. With a long narrow flat blade screwdriver which would fit through the 1/4" hole, I located the face of the flywheel with the flat of the blade. I then pushed the screwdriver in along the face until it came to a stop, which was, of course, the clutch disc. While keeping the blade in firm contact with both the flywheel face AND the clutch disc, I banged a few times on the end of the screwdriver handle; sure enough, this was enough to peel the disc free from the flywheel. The whole operation took 10 minutes.

The best thing in order to avoid all this nonsense in the first place is to block the clutch pedal down in the depressed position when not using the machine.

I had a stuck clutch on my 641 once.I tried qick braking .rocking the tractor back and forth, etc.I eventualy took off the starter and sprayed some silly crowel(automotive spray lube)(simular to wd-40)in on the pressure plate and clutch,I let it set for a couple days, put the starter back in , started it up ,(with nothing in the way of course)
Hit the brakes and held down on the clutch and it came loose.First tractor I have ever had it happen to.I believe its from the dampness and condensation . Good luck , Craig..
