I have a '79 2600 tractor and need to know the wiring pattern for the alternator. And secondly, the ignition switch under the instrument panel cowling. Thanks Ron

Should have a Motorola Alternator with a separate voltage regulator. Connections:
- Output terminal - heavy red wire to battery + via hot terminal on starter solenoid.
- Field terminal - (spade terminal in center of bakelite plate) green wire connects via harness to green wire on regulator. - Warning lamp terminal - smaller screw terminal connects with a red or striped wire to the warning lamp in the instrument cluster and to the red wire on the voltage regulator. - Ground - black wire from one of the alternator housing tie bolts to a ground terminal on the firewall near the voltage regulator.

Voltage Regulator connections:
- green - see above
- yellow - to key switch ignition terminal
- black - to ground
- red - to warning lamp terminal on alternator.

Key switch:

1. Red 12V from battery
2. Brown/Blue to instruments and warning lamps Brown yellow to yellow wire on voltage reg. 3. Brown/red to manifold heater (diesel)
4. Brown to starter solenoid via transmission neutral safety switch.
