The tractor is labelled "Ford Super Dexta" on either side of the steering wheel housing but above the front wheels it is labelled "3000".
The serial number is at the engine casing behind the starter motor. On a machined flat is stamped:
D21 6 ,and next line B*041495*. Above the machined flat is stamped "6080".
My own guess is that it is a '66 Ford 3000 from Basildon, but what has that to do with Super Dexta?

From 1939 to 1964 Ford Tractor in the UK was building the Fordson Major, New Fordson Major, Fordson Dexta, Super Major, Super Dexta while Ford Tractor in the U.S. was building N-series, NAA's and all its descedants, the 600 and 800 series. When Ford tractor went to world wide production in 1965 they continued to decal the 2000 with "Dexta", the 3000 with "Super Dexta, 4000 with "Major" and 5000 "Super Major" in Europe for marketing reasons. B (Basildon) and A (Antwerp) prefixed serial number tractors had these decals. Tractors assembled in Detroit (C prefix serial numbers) did not.

Incidentally, the model 6000 was manufactured and assembled only in the U.S. From 61 to 64 it was model numbered "6000" to align with the 2000 and 4000 (descendants of the 601 and 801). From 65 on it was the model "6000 Commander". The nose was restyled slightly to give some similarity to the 2000 to 5000. It was discontinued about 1968 when Ford Tractor Introduced the turobcharged 7000. They never used the model number 6000 again..

I have always thought that when Ford started selling the 3000 Ford, it marked the time when all of the utility models were made in England (models including everything from 2000-7000) Only the 6000 8000 and 9000 were built in the USA. I also presumed that the utilities were perhaps shipped here without all sheet metal. I have 6-8 books on Ford tractors and none seems to cover this information about where the blue fords were built. From 1965 to approximately 1969, 2000 through 9000 series Ford tractors were assembled in Highland Park Michigan and from 1969 to mid eighties at Troy Michigan. Similar assembly was done at Basildon England and Antwerp Belgium. Engines for all three assembly plants were made at Basildon England, manual shift transmssions and most rear axles were manufactured at Antwerp. A 3000 for example, could have been assembled at any of the three plants; the power train would be the same but there were differences in sheet metal and electrical systems. European tractors typically had inset headlights, wider step plates and larger fenders. You're right Mike in that eventually all production of blue tractors was moved to Europe; the Troy MI plant was converted to auto engine manufacturing some time in the mid eighties.

I'll admit this is an oversimplification. For example, blue tractors were also manufactured in Queretaro, Mexico; Winnipeg, Canada and by licensees elsewhere.

My Ford shop manuals refer to the 3000 as the "3000 Super Dexta". I think it is 2000 Dexta, 3000 Super Dexta, 4000 Major and 5000 Commander.
