Need help! I bought a 600 tractor and the arms lift only when the control arm is down. The arms lock in place when its in the up position. They move very slowly and will not lift any weight. I had changed the fluid because it had water and dirt in it. I cleaned the system out and rebuilt the pump. It had broken springs in the pump and some gasket debris in the intake line. I replaced the orings on the entire system. I was told it worked fine 2 year ago before it was parked. But you know how that goes. Any suggestions as to why its not working properly? Please help.

SEAN, THIS MAY SEEM BASIC AS YOU SOUND VERY MECHANICAL BUT IT MAY HELP TO TRY OPENING THE FLUID FILL PLUG ON THE HYDROLIC PUMP TO PRIME THE FLUID INTO THE SYSTEM. I HAD REBUILT MY FORD 600 ENGINE AND AFTER RE INSTALLING THE PUMP THIS IS WHAT IT TOOK TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN. JUST A THOUGHT! GOOD LUCK!

I tried doing that and it still is not working. I was having that problem before I rebuilt the pump. I was told the broken rings was not putting enough pressure to lift the weight. I took allen nut off and filled up the pump with fluid. Is there another way to do it?

I am writing to make sure you opened the plug while the tractor is running. I'm sure you did but thought i'd mention it just in case. Other than that, thats all I know. Good luck!

I opened the plug and I was told to put a hose from the allen nut opening to back to the fill plug to see what kind of flow I was getting. It was moving alot better than before the pump was rebuilt. It had 3 broken springs in it. I guess one of the valves is bad. Thanks for your help.

Use compressed air to blow into the hydraulic dipstick tube. It will force fluid into the pump. I do not put too much pressure at one time but jst enough to force the fluid up.
