I have owned the same tractor for 14 years. It has been a very good tractor. I have beat the tractor almost to death and it has never wimpered! Why does the backhoe not work?? You might want to look to see if there is a knob under the loader controls. This knob is called a power beyond control. Push the knob in and the loader will work. Pull the knob out and the hoe will work. You cannot use the loader and the hoe togeather at the same time. Its one or the other with this setup. This is the only down fall I have had with this tractor. What is the seller asking? If you do buy it, make sure that the 4 hoses directly in front of the control tower are in good shape. I blew one of those hoses and got a whale of a bath! I havent sqeeked since!!! You might find that you might want to modify the bucket so it will roll back a little more than the factory settup. Sometimes it is hard to fill the bucket ,depending on what material you are trying to load, Hopes this helps, Bill

Thanks guys-I'm waiting on the owner to give me a price. I think one of the grand kids said the backhoe portion leaked oil so bad you had to hurry to dig a hole and they had tried to fix it several times with no luck. ????
