I'm trying to find any info at all on a tractor I recently purchased.
I've searched the internet high and low, and the best thing I can find is that it might be an 1801
industial series. I've found one picture of an 1801 and it seems to have all the similar features my tractor has.(solid front axle,frame,
front grill etc.) This tractor has no identifying
marks,except the numbers stamped into the left
side of the tractor. 40403-D and <52404>. It has
a Diesle engine.(runs great) and a four speed trans with a foward/reverse lever mounted on the left side of the tranmission. It is equipted with
a front end loader and a rear box scraper. the only other identifyable thing it has is a medalion on the front between the head lights. All
it says is Ford Industrial Series. It's painted
blue and yellow. Original? Who Knows. Any info at
all would help. Thanks Ray

Ray You have a 1963 / 1964 light duty Industrail tractor based on the ag tractor, the only real difference is the solid front axle and they have a bigger clutch in them , 10 inch verses 9 inch , It is definately not an 1801 which were 1958/1960 and were red and gray.The 1801 was the heavy duty Industrail model and had a cast iron grille assy, frame rails, and full power strg that was cable operated . Tony, I found a picture of an 1801. It looks exactly like my tractor right down to the cast iron grill. The only differance I'm finding is the power steering is not cable, and the paint. I did go out and chip a little paint and found some red under the blue and yellow. If you have any leads on the numbers; 40403-D and <52404> Please
let me know. Thanks Ray

Ray The #52404 is your serial number, the tractor was built in JUNE 1964 , The #40403-D is your model number , the D means DIESEL , But the 40403 is the model number for the HEAVY DUTY INDUSTRAIL built between 1960-1962, the 4 means 4000 series tractor 172 engine , the 0 means 1960-1962 , the 40 means h/d industrail , the 3 means three point hitch and pto. Yours should read 41403 the 1 means 1963/1964 thats what made me think it was the other style industrail, I read your model number incorrectly, 40403/40303 , I also have both styles of Industrails, 1961 40303 light duty industrail 4x4 loader, a 1958 1841 h/d industrail 4x4 loader , a 1959 1871 h/d industrail 4x4 loader/hoe , and a 1964 41404 h/d industrail loader. That will not have cable strg , it will have the single drag link srtg on the left side of the strg box. Thanks Tony Jacobs

Go to this link and scroll to the bottom of the page for a pic of an 1801. It's not blue and yellow but at least it shows what an 1801 industrial looks like. Your sn sounds kind of like a 4000 series to me but I'm no expert.
